How to choose an office pod in Canada
Start with the work, the people and the space. A useful shortlist balances daily use with the full cost and practicalities of getting the pod into place.
The best office pod depends on the task
For compact individual calls, start with Solo; for more desk space, compare Solo Plus. For two-person conversations, compare the deeper Duo with the wider, shallower Team. Meet and Max support layouts for up to four and six people respectively. Use these as a shortlist, then check the actual furniture, access route and technical requirements. A model that suits a short phone call may not suit a day of laptop work or a confidential interview.
Define the job the pod must do
List the usual activity, session length, number of users and any screen or furniture requirements. Single-person calls, desk work and two-person interviews can require different layouts. Count realistic peak demand before deciding how many pods to purchase.
Check the fit in two directions
Inside, check usable work space and furniture clearance. Outside, check the delivery route, final position, door swing and assembly space. Review access for every intended user. A stated person count or overall width is not enough to demonstrate accessibility.
Office pod or constructed meeting room?
A pod combines an enclosure, standard lighting and ventilation in a defined footprint. A constructed room can offer a custom size and integration with building services, but needs its own design and works scope. Compare the complete project: usable space, accessibility, acoustic evidence, landlord approval, electrical and ventilation requirements, installation disruption, future relocation and total CAD cost. Neither option automatically avoids permits or site approval. Choose by the requirements of your premises, rather than an assumed saving or a promise that no building work is needed.
Compare evidence and total cost
Request the acoustic test, electrical documentation, warranty terms and exact list of inclusions. Compare prices in CAD on the same tax and delivery basis. Record what happens if access changes, the shipment is delayed, a part is damaged or the pod later needs relocation.
Approve one complete specification
Your final record should identify model, quantity, colours, furniture, options, delivery address, installation scope, total price, payment terms and expected stages of delivery. Keep the specification and order documents together for the receiving and facilities teams.
