Use a one-person phone booth to separate calls from shared desks, or a meeting pod for conversations that would otherwise occupy a larger room. Solo suits compact calling positions; Solo Plus provides more desk space. Compare Duo and Team for two-person use, and Meet or Max for small groups. In a coworking space, decide how members book, how long sessions last, who resets the furniture and who reports a fault. Place the pod so its door and any waiting users do not block circulation.
Study pods for schools and universities
Institutional buyers can compare an individual work setting with a two-person tutorial or small-group layout. Check desk depth for books and a laptop, seating, supervision, booking rules, session duration and cleaning between users. The age of students and the proposed use affect suitability. Have facilities and accessibility staff assess the selected configuration and its location before procurement. FocusPod supplies pods; this website does not reserve study rooms at a campus.
Library study spaces
Decide whether the space is for silent individual study, a spoken online class or a group discussion. Those activities need different placement and privacy expectations. Review sightlines for staff, accessible alternatives, booking access, ventilation and the noise level outside the pod. An acoustic enclosure reduces sound transfer but does not create complete silence. Include a cleaning and inspection routine for furniture, controls, glazing and door seals in the library’s operating plan.
Law firms, accounting and professional services
Separate individual calls from two-person interviews when planning capacity. Check where a laptop, documents and any screen will sit, and whether the chosen furniture leaves a clear exit. For sensitive client or personnel discussions, assess speech privacy in the actual installed surroundings and apply your organisation’s information-handling rules. Neither a closed door nor a laboratory acoustic figure guarantees that a conversation cannot be overheard. Include visual privacy and secure device use in the assessment.
Healthcare workplaces
Start by distinguishing staff calls and administrative work from a clinical use. For a staff workspace, review cleaning compatibility, ventilation, supervision, access and emergency procedures with the responsible team. A proposed consultation or treatment use requires a separate suitability assessment and supporting documentation. The standard range is not presented as a clinical treatment room, controlled environment or certified accessible enclosure. Select the model only after the site team has defined the requirements.
Government and public-sector procurement
Prepare one specification that identifies the model, furniture, electrical configuration, acoustic evidence, warranty, delivery address and installation responsibilities. Ask the receiving and facilities teams to review package size, floor loading, unloading equipment and the route to the final position. Record the CAD price, applicable taxes and import arrangements, approved payment process and required delivery milestones. Lactation, sensory and accessible spaces
Define the specialist requirements before choosing a pod. Consider the clear door opening, threshold, turning and transfer space, reachable controls, fixtures, hygiene, user control and emergency arrangements. Check those requirements against the actual furnished layout, not just the external footprint. We do not claim that a standard FocusPod automatically satisfies a lactation-room, sensory-room or accessible-space specification. Where the standard range does not meet the requirement, do not substitute a smaller or unsuitable enclosure.
